1. What Information We Collect (And What We Don't)
We have designed Nimu to collect the absolute minimum information possible. We can group this into two categories:
A. Your Private Sanctuary Data (Which We CANNOT See)
This is the information you enter into the app during onboarding or daily use. It is stored only on your device's internal memory and we never have access to it. This includes:
- Your Name: (Used only for Nimu to greet you).
- Your Triggers: (e.g., Boredom, Anxiety, Insomnia).
- Your Time Preferences: (When you need Nimu most).
- Your Sparks & Drawings: Any doodles, "Beauty Hunter" photos, or interactions you create.
- "Vent" Data: Text entered into the "Burn Vent" feature is processed locally and immediately deleted (burned) by the app. It is never saved, even locally.
B. Anonymous & Aggregated Data (Which We CAN See)
To make the app function and to fix bugs, we receive two types of completely anonymous data. This data is never linked to your personal data from category (A).
- Subscription Status (via RevenueCat): We use a service called RevenueCat to manage our "Nimu Plus" subscriptions. When you upgrade, RevenueCat generates an anonymous receipt (a random ID) and confirms to our app that you are a "Plus" user. This allows us to restore your purchase if you get a new device. RevenueCat does not have access to your private sanctuary data.
- Crash Reports (via Apple): If the app crashes, Apple's service may automatically send us an anonymous, aggregated report. This report helps us find and fix the bug. It does not contain any of your personal inputs, names, or drawings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Your Private Sanctuary Data is used only by the app on your device to perform its core functions: personalizing Nimu's behavior, greeting you, and saving your "sealed" envelopes.
- Your Anonymous Data is used by us to:
- Confirm and restore your "Nimu Plus" status.
- Analyze anonymous sales data (e.g., how many people upgraded today).
- Identify and fix technical bugs.
3. Data Storage, Security, and Deletion
All your private Nimu data is stored in a private, sandboxed database on your phone.
- Security: This data is protected by your device's built-in security (e.g., your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID).
- Backups: Your data may be included in your device's automatic, encrypted backups (e.g., Apple iCloud backups). This is a function of your device's operating system, and we have no ability to access or read this backup data.
- Deletion: If you delete the Nimu app from your device, all of its associated private data is permanently and irretrievably deleted.
4. Third-Party Services (Payments & Subscriptions)
Nimu offers a subscription service ("Nimu Plus"). This transaction is handled by two third-party services:
- The Apple App Store: Your payment is processed exclusively by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details, credit card number, or billing address.
- RevenueCat: As mentioned above, we use RevenueCat to manage your subscription status. You can review RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for more details on their data handling.
5. Children's Privacy
Nimu is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since our app collects no personal information from any user, we are in full compliance with laws like the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make any changes, we will notify you by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app settings and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please don't hesitate to contact us.
